Kindness and Wisdom Meditation: Residential Retreat

When and Where

Rachael O’Brien and I will be leading this nine day retreat at the beautiful St. Francis Retreat Center in San Juan Batista, California from June 24 to July 3, 2018.

Led by

Rachael O’Brien and Doug Kraft

Style of Meditation

In the earliest records of what the Buddha actually said about meditation, we find an elegant, nuanced, and amazingly effective practice. It is a cousin to the Insight Meditation often taught in this country. And, it has differences. It rejects one-pointed concentration and emphasizes relaxation, ease, and sense of humor. It blends the cultivation of ease with cultivation of insight. As your practice deepens, the instructions shift to take advantage of the experience you have gained.

This retreat will guide you gently and deeply through this practice of kindness and wisdom.

There will be a Dhamma talk by Doug or Rachael each evening. There will be individual interviews each day to help you fine-tune your meditation practice.

New and experienced meditators are welcome.

Cost

Registration cost is $750 for double occupancy or $990 for a single room. This covers room and board for the week. Some partial scholarships are available. Please ask.

The dhamma talks, daily interviews, and on-going instructions are offered freely. Donations (Dana) may be given to further my teaching and is gratefully welcome.
